End the Stigma:

A Place to Find Solace in Solidarity

Lets Talk Beyond Mental Health

End the Stigma provides a place to normalize Mental Health as an everyday obstacle where people can connect with popular culture media. It is a safe place for people to seek meaning knowing it is okay to not be okay.

Mission

We strive to make Mental Health an issue of acceptance. To shed light on Mental Health through pop culture influence which enables people to find solace in. To promote Mental Health as a positive life experience.

Values

Our organization is built on the values of fostering a sense of belonging, respect, trust, integrity, and empathy establishing a heart to heart connection with our viewers. It is through our core values we are able to provide aid at a quality level for people undergoing hardship, ache, or despair.

Vision

We aim to create a safe hub or place for people going through Mental Health challenges. To move beyond just talking about Mental Health. Instead, allow people to identify and resonate with relevant/real pop cultural issues in modern day. To connect people with resources on Mental Health that provides meaning, purpose, and understanding in life gradually.

As a Health & Physical Education Teacher Candidate, my doctrine focuses on building a sense of belonging throughout people lives. Therefore, with precision, care, and empathy as core principles, meaningful connections can be established with people. I value the strength in our differences whether it be race, culture, religion, gender, or ability among many factors it should unite us as one. The human condition can only be tackled by going beyond the norm thus, breaking stereotypes, stigmas, and barriers is fundamental to a persons life. At the heart of hardships lies ‘reality’ and ultimately it is our civil duty to pay it forward.

Shabir Salihi, End the Stigma

I focus on allowing people express themselves fully, creatively, and safely. With compassion, drive, and care as core principles, I can provide the tools to help people suceed. I value our diversity as a society, and like Mr. Salihi, also believe that these differences should unite us as one. I believe that through the arts, one can reach higher heights and further explore themselves. The arts can express creativity, and I hope to help enable those expressing difficulty to sore the endless sky. I believe that as a community, we can make a difference.

Questions to Consider:

How can we use media, people, and stories as ways to cope and resonate with to find meaning?

In what ways can media or technology change our ways in dealing with Mental Health?

Does using pop cultural media aid in solving our mental health challenges?

Hopefully this blog will put some questions to rest.
